Description
Point detonation with switch for producing 0.5 sec delay, or instantaneous action
A reasonable item with a few minor knocks and corrosion on the steel. The detonator in the nose is in good condition, as is the steel cone of the fuze itself. The internals are missing and the ‘delay’ switch doesn’t move.
The stampings are faint to read, but are:
“FUZE PD M48A2 0.50 SEC LOT SOP 31-5 4-44”
The M48A2 fuzes were used in many different types of ammunition in WW2 and are still in use today.
