Created by SIG Sauer and recently adopted by the US Army as the replacement to the 5.56mm NATO cartridge, the .277 Fury (military nomenclature: 6.8x51mm) cartridge with its distinctive bimetallic construction is able to withstand chamber pressures of up to 80k psi. This particular case is fresh off the 2026 military production line (commercial cases are marked '.277 Fury' and don't require the year of manufacture to be part of the headstamp) and has never been used.
