Description
This was the first time fuze of pointed shape to enter service in 1933. The Mk IV was used during the ‘Blitz’ on London, with many fired relics still held as souvenirs. It also had the top ring slotted to enable machine fuze setting.
This example is unfired, and strippable, but the gunpowder has been removed from the time rings. The condition is good and does include the base plug.
The markings are:
No 199 IV RL 4/40
RL 5/40 1231
