This example retains its original forged steel construction with original wooden handles and displays an attractive untouched patina acquired over more than a century. The cutters are in solid condition, with intact handles and freely moving joints
Notably, the tool bears a British Broad Arrow property mark, indicating British government ownership or acceptance for military service. French-manufactured equipment was supplied to and used by British forces during the First World War
