Boer War Period - British Pr Case Letter Opener With Bell

Interesting piece of Boer War period Trenchart is this British 1Pr 'Pom Pom' case which has been converted to a small hand-bell and letter opener by attaching a Boer German 7mm Mauser cartridge case to the base of the 1Pr case which has a turned steel facsimile 'bullet' added fashioned into a small letter-opener. The 7mm case is fsecurely screwed onto the 1Pr case but is easily unscrewed if desired. The headstamps on the 7mm case are 'DM K 1899'. The bell consists of a 12mm diameter lead ball clanger attached to a stiff copper wire hooked up internally to strike the internal case side when shaken. This is a really nice little piece of functional trench art.
