WW2 Re-filled WW1 French 37mm Case

Nice French 37x94R brass case with the following headstamps '37-85 PDPs 246 1.18 MS'. The case is a re-worked 1918 dated one. These WW1 cases were re-used up to and during WW2 by the French army who replaced the powder and used a longer, more powerful push-in primer than the small button primer used in WW1. This is such a case having the longer primer which is unstruck but inert. These cases showed an additional makers stamp of the factory where they were re-worked, in this example the extra headstamp is 'MS'.  This case has no crimp ring and has not been fired so the case mouth is not stretched and retains clear evidence of a purple coloured case mouth seal (see third image). 

Used by the French army up until the fall of France in 1940 and subsequently by the German occupation forces in the Atlantic Wall defences. Quite a rare case.
